Hayfa Makes Music is an energetic collaboration of guitar-fiddle beats coming from Vancouver, BC. Inspired by adventure, movement, silliness and LOVE, the band's music spurs audience involvement and invokes the most creative of spirits.

Hayfa Makes Music's blend of rich lyrics, energetic beats, and foot-stomping fiddle weaves together acoustic folk, reggae, and rock. The music is born in an intricate patchwork of experiences from travels throughout West Africa, Asia, and North America, and delivers thought-provoking, contagious melodies.

The three-piece band includes classically trained and charming violinist, Alexandra Taub, whose 15 years of experience has developed her unique mixture of Celtic and Classical violin. Lead singer Hayfa Abichahine, who has been making music with Alexandra for 8 years, has a real passion for writing, guitar, and singing. She's influenced by artists and activists such as Michael Franti and Ani Difranco and her performances come from a place of genuine conviction. Completing the dynamic trio, drummer, John Cullen, keeps the crowd guessing with his lively beats.

Hayfa Makes Music is excited to be have realeased the band's first album in June 2008 - Jailhouse EP. Throughout the summer, you can get a taste of their music at one of their many upcoming shows in Vancouver and throughout the West Coast of Canada.
